Level Expectations

WJBB Level Expectations

8RC, & 9 - 14 year olds

Coach & Player Commitments

WJBB tries to field a team at all levels based on the ability and availability of kids within the Evergreen/Conifer area.  Kids are placed at a given/level based on their performance at tryouts.

This document covers all 9 thru 14 year old players.  It also covers the 8 year old RC (Roberto Clemente) team.  The 8RC is a kid pitched competitive team that begins playing JCJBL (Jefferson County Junior Baseball League) a year early).  Upcoming 7 & 8 year olds are more than welcome to tryout for the 8RC team.  WJBB also offers a 7 & 8 year old machine pitch program for those players who are not interested in playing competitive ball yet.

There are four possible levels within JCJBL.  They are as follows:

Major - This is the most competitive level and requires the most time and money commitment.  Based on availability of players WJBB does not always field a team at this level.  Team attends 4 or more tournaments.

AAA - This is the second most competitive level and is the most popular level within the JCJBL system.  Team attends 2 or more tournaments.

AA - This is the next competitive level within the JCJBL system.  Team attends 1 or more tournaments.

A - This is considered a recreational level and teams are usually formed by neighborhood/school.  Teams do not generally attend tournaments, but they can if so desired.

Tournament costs are covered by the team.

A parent does not pick which level their child will play.  This is determined at tryouts.  If the ability of the player exceeds the time commitment in which the parents want to commit, the player has the option to drop one level.

Games for the regular season are played in April, May and June.  If a team does well and makes it to state these games are usually played the first two weekends in July.  Tournaments can be played when they are available after they team has been formed.
